A New Demo for a New Year
One by one, I am tackling the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of 2024. The first item on my list was to take new headshot and branding images. Thanks to the fabulous Erin Cox of ELC Photography, that goal was reached in January. ✅
My next item of business, was to create this very website from scratch. I already had a voiceover website but I wanted to completely revamp it to reflect my entire skill-set and add a lot more information. I hired to Voice actor websites to help me with this task and I am thrilled with the outcome. ✅
While my website was in the creation process, I began to tackle my 3rd big goal of the year: getting some one-on-one coaching in the art of network promo voiceover and then creating a fabulous promo demo.
Training with the Best
When it comes to promo coaching, Harry Dunn is one of the few names that is consistently recommended as a fantastic coach. I chose to work with Harry for this reason and because he has so many years of valuable experience directly in the “trenches”. Who better to teach me than someone who has spent the past 25 years producing network promos and coaching voiceover talent through their deliveries?
I love coaching with Harry. He’s kind but straightforward. He’s professional and fun at the same time. And he has a deep knowledge of the industry that he readily imparts to his students.
After a couple months of one-on-one coaching, I was ready to make a demo! 🎉
My New Promo Demo
Recording my Promo demo was super fun! Harry hires the fabulous Danny Brin (a post production audio mixer at The CW Television Network) to create custom music beds and do all the recording and mixing. Harry’s direction is clear and decisive and I felt confidant in the reads I was delivering. Best of all, the turn-around time for receiving my fully produced demo was super fast! ⚡️
TAKE A LISTEN!
So, without further ado, here is the fabulous demo we created. Take a listen and let me know your thoughts. 😊 I am so excited to get this out into the world. I hope to catch the ears of network promo producers as well as the top-tier talent agencies who tend to receive the bulk of auditions. 🤞
