-
Jingles
A short, catchy piece of music that’s designed to capture attention and reinforce brand recognition. Jingles often include a company’s name, product, or tagline, and are intended to encourage people to make a purchase.
The What and Why of Jingles in the Commercial World
- Emotional connections: It’s not secret that music creates emotional connections. Jingles connect to customer’s emotions which can lead to brand recognition and customer loyalty.
- Brand identity: Jingles are short, unique, and should be memorable. Many of us can still remember and sing the jingles we heard as small children. Just a mere mention of a brand can call up a catchy song in a customer’s mind–thanks to a great jingle.
- Memorability: Jingles are written to be catchy, repetitive, and simple, making them easy to remember. A great jingle can remind customers of who you are and what you do.
- Cost-effective Advertising Method: Jingles can be a cost-effective marketing method. Jingles can be changed and modified slightly over time. This way they can be updated while maintaining brand recognition.
- Generational Connection: The strongest jingles can become generational, as children and grandchildren of customers learn these catchy tunes and choose to remain loyal to the brand.
- Brand Influencers: Jingles can job both short and long-term memory and influence customer choices. Consumers may choose to go with the brand whose jingle pops into their head and creates a positive affinity for the brand.
